Nuwana means wisdom. The app is just a way to carry it.
Sri Lankan students revise the same way we always have: photocopied past papers, a red pen, and a marking scheme borrowed from a friend. It works, but only if someone marks the paper and explains what went wrong.
Nuwana is a publishing platform for that gap. Books are written in our authoring tool and read in one app — chapters with proper equations and diagrams, papers you fill in and assess yourself against real marking guidelines, and a bookmark that remembers where you stopped.
We're starting where I can be useful: ICT past papers for Grades 6 to 11, then A/L textbooks from Grade 12. After that, the shelf belongs to other authors — tuition teachers with a decade of tutes in a cupboard, and schools with material that never leaves the staff room.
Built in Colombo, for students studying in Sinhala, Tamil and English.
What we're building next
MCQ papers first, then structured-question papers, then the Grade 12 ICT textbook with narration and video.
What we won't do
Sell student data, run ads at children, or show a parent anything a student hasn't agreed to share.
Privacy, briefly
We store the account you create, the books you open and the answers you give — that's what makes bookmarks and progress work. Supervisors see a progress summary only, and only after you accept their invitation. We don't sell anything to anyone.
Terms, briefly
Authors keep the copyright in their books and are responsible for what they publish. Books shared with you are for your own study — please don't redistribute them. Full terms go up with the app.
